Als ich 1971 dort zufällig eintraf, war es ein kleines, verträumtes Fischerdorf mit rund 350 Einwohnern.
Es gab seit wenigen Jahren Strom und Leitungswasser, 3 Telefone, 1 kleines Lebensmittelgeschäft mit einfachen Angebot, 2 Restaurants, 2 Bars, 1 Krimskrams-Laden, in dem auf Vorbestellung am Folgetag die nötigsten Medikamente bereit lagen.
Ein Dr. hielt Nachmittags Sprechstunde. Die Fischer verkauften ihre Fiche am Vormittag in einer alten Fischhalle, gemeinsam zogen sie ihre Boote hoch.
Mein Auto war eines von 3, nur wenige Ausländer besuchten den Ort, jeder kannte jeden, man sprach Valenciano.
Im Winter spendeten Braseros mit dicken Decken Wärme, es gab weder Markt noch einen Yachthafen. Der halbblinde alte Fischer Pepe sass auf seinem roten Binsen-Stühlchen vor seinem kleinem dunklen Häuschen und flickte die Netze seiner Freunde. Die Sonne schien und mir gefiel das einfache Leben.
ÜBER 40 JAHRE SPÄTER …… 2019 Inzwischen wohnen offiziell rund 1900 Menschen aus rund 80 Nationen in unserer Gemeinde, tatsächlich sind es rund 30.000, und in der Hochsaison um die 50.000.
Yachthafen für über 500 Schiffe, Märkte, Sportangebote, mehr als 200 Restaurants, Bars, Cafes, verführerische kleine Geschäfte, dazu breit sortierte Supermärkte, die internationalen Ansprüchen gerecht werden, gepflegte Strände.
Den zahllosen Besitzern und Gästen der vielen Villen werden heute alle Wünsche erfüllt. Wer Einsamkeit und Ruhe sucht, kommt beim Spaziergang durch Weinberge oder Orangen-Plantagen oder Weinfelder auf seine Kosten.
Diverse Ausflugsmöglichkeiten bieten jahrelang Abwechslung. Wer sich in Moraira langweilt, ist selbst schuld. Edda’s Villen sind perfekt, sie weiß, was Gaste für einen idealen Urlaub wünschen.
Die Erwachsenen finden eine gute Bücher-K ollektion vor, die Kinder freuen sich über die Gesellschaftsspiele. Für Kleinstkinder gibt es Sand-Spielzeug, Parkhaus, Puppenstuben und eine Puppenküche.
