Calpe auf Spanisch: Calp ist eine Küstenstadt in der Comarca Marina Alta, Spanien. Zwischen Altea im Süden und Javea im Norden, 67 km von der Stadt Alicante entfernt.
Calpe mit seinen etwa 20.100 Einwohnern und bekannt für seinen Felsen namens Penon de Ifach ist ein massiver Felsen und hat viele Menschen dazu inspiriert, die fast perfekte Aussicht auf die Buchten und über die Costa Blanca zu genießen.
Die Wirtschaft von Calpe basiert hauptsächlich auf Tourismus und Fischerei. Aufgrund der strategischen Küstenlage von Calpe gibt es in der Stadt viele iberische, römische und arabische archäologische Stätten.

Die Freizeitparks von Benidorm sind nur 15 Minuten mit dem Auto oder eine halbe Stunde mit der Fähre vom Hafen von der Stadt entfernt. Zu den bedeutendsten Denkmälern in der Stadt zählen die Ruinen von Los banos de la Reina (die Bäder der Königin), die überfluteten Salinen, ein Vogelschutzgebiet für Zugvögel, seine gotische katholische Kirche und der Turm von La Peca aus dem Jahr 18. Jahrhundert.
Im Landesinneren von Calpe liegen die Weinbautäler Orba und Jalon. Die schönen Städte Alicante und Valencia sind beide in etwa einer Stunde mit dem Auto erreichbar. In Calpe gibt es neben Strand und Sonne viel zu tun.
Strände von Calpe Calpe hat zwei ausgedehnte Strände – den Cantal Roig und den Playa Arenal, zusammen mit den anderen beiden Stränden La Fossa und der Bucht von Gasparet, die ebenfalls zur Stadt gehört.
Playa de la Fossa ist ein erstklassiger Strand mit goldenem Sand und ausgezeichneten Einrichtungen, darunter mehrere Kinderspielplätze, Tennisplätze und sogar eine Bowlingbahn. Es wurde mit der Blauen Flagge ausgezeichnet.

Calpe is a coastal town located in the comarca of Marina Alta, Spain. In between Altea to the south and Javea to the north, located 67 km from the city of Alicante. Calpe with its about 20,100 habitants, and known for its rock called the penon de ifach, this is a massive rock and has inspired many people to come and enjoy the nearly perfect view around the bays and across the Costa Blanca.
The economy of Calpe is mainly based on tourism and fishing. Many Iberian, Roman and Arab archeological sites exist in the town, due to Calpe’s strategic coastal location.
The area around Calpe is excellent for mountaineering, hiking, climbing and also scuba diving with many caves to explore. The theme parks of Benidorm are only 15 minutes away by car or half an hour on the ferry from Calpe’s port.
Some of the most important monuments in Calpe are the ruins of Los banos de la Reina, (the queen’s baths), the flooded salt flats, a bird sanctuary for migratory birds, its Gothic Catholic church and the tower of La Peca, dating from the 18th century.
Inland from the City are the wine growing valleys of Orba and Jalon. The beautiful cities of Alicante and Valencia are both reachable in around an hour by car. In Calpe there are many things to do apart from the beach and sun.

Calpe has two extensive beaches – the cantal roig and the playa arenal, together with the other two beaches, la fossa and the bay of Gasparet which also belongs to the city.
Playa de la Fossa is a first class beach with golden sand and excellent facilities including several children’s play areas, tennis courts and even a bowling green. It has been awarded a Blue Flag.
The exceptional climate makes it a great place to visit all year round. Indeed the World Health Authority names the area as having one of the healthiest climates there is.
